Andrew Lewis

Andrew joined Liverpool City Council as Chief Executive in May 2023. The Council is on a radical journey of transformation, delivering substantial improvements in governance, service delivery and financial sustainability.

Andrew was previously (2018-2023) Chief Executive of Cheshire West and Chester Council. This followed roles in the North East of England: as Director of the Northern Way (2007-2010), promoting cooperation on economic growth across the North; Assistant Chief Executive of Newcastle City Council (2010-2016); and the founding Managing Director of the Tees Valley Combined Authority (2016-2018).

An economist by background, Andrew spent the first period of his career as a senior economic adviser at HM Treasury.
