Cheshire and Merseyside Radiology Imaging Network shortlisted for prestigious HSJ Digital Awards

The Cheshire and Merseyside Radiology Imaging Network (CAMRIN) has been shortlisted for four HSJ Digital awards. The HSJ Digital Awards highlight the most influential and impactful digital advancements in healthcare that have significantly improved patient care, streamlined operations, and fostered better healthcare outcomes.

The four shortlisted entries are:

  • Driving Change through Data and Analytics Award for developing a Microsoft Power BI application called ‘CAMDASH’ that brings together radiology imaging dashboards, reports, and other critical datasets. This will help establish a single source of truth that enables stakeholders to access local Hospital Trust and/or regional Integrated Care System (ICS) level radiology data to empower data-driven insights and decision-making.
  • Unlocking Productivity and Efficiency with Digital Award for establishing a high-capacity, low latency, and secure Digital Diagnostic Network (DDN) across 11 Trusts, to support image sharing. The DDN will also support the implementation of a fully hosted Cloud-based Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) that will hold imaging data at a system-level, to improve resilience, scalability, and the sharing of best practice.
  • Measuring What Matters: Using Data and Analytics to Maximise Benefits Realisation in Radiology and Imaging Healthcare award for CAMRIN’s innovative approach to transforming benefits realisation management into a strategic driver for change. By improving the benefits management capability and tracking evidence-based benefits, they are delivering measurable improvements in patient care while ensuring efficient use of NHS resources.
  • Driving Change through AI and Automation Award for CAMRIN’s unique, cloud-first approach to implementing AI with the aim of delivering reductions in waiting times for patients with suspected lung cancer and other serious health issues. The project used a novel approach to AI which reduced the impact on local IT teams and allowed for efficient and safer implementation.

The HSJ Digital Awards are renowned for recognizing excellence in healthcare innovation. Being shortlisted for these awards is a significant achievement that highlights CAMRIN’s commitment to advancing healthcare through technology.

This year marks a milestone for the HSJ Digital Awards, with a record-breaking 432 entries submitted. Of which, 205 projects have been shortlisted, each demonstrating remarkable ingenuity, passion, and transformative impact in digital health.
