NHS organisations use social media to engage with members of the public and other stakeholders and to share key messages around patient services and promote positive health and wellbeing.
Social media enables greater engagement with communities which might not be reached via traditional media such as newspapers and radio. It also facilitates two-way communication between service commissioners, providers and service users while enabling more effective engagement with younger people and seldom-heard groups.
